Transferring a .EU domain into Name.com

Last Updated: Jul 14, 2022

A .EU domain follows the normal transfer process which you can read more at Transfer to Name.com. In some cases, it may stall on the submitting transfer status.  Although there are a few causes for this issue, by far the most common culprit is a problem with the account contacts.

The .EU registry will not let a transfer complete if you have contact details outside the European Union. You will need to change the contact information on your account to your valid European contact information. Once you have updated the information the transfer will proceed on its own shortly after.

To update the contact information for your entire account, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Name.com account.
  2. Click on the User icon (user-icon.png), located at the top right, open the drop down menu and click Settings then select Default Account Contacts.
  3. Update the contact information that you wish to change and click Update. If you want all the contact information in the account to be the same, check the Make all contact information the same box before clicking Update.

Note: You can review the member EU countries on the EU website.
