Understanding .DE domains
The transfer process for .DE domain names is slightly different than with other TLDs. As you will notice, the authorization code for your .DE domain name is not listed in your Name.com account. This is because authorization codes must be specifically requested at DeNic, the .DE registry. They are not generated at the time of domain name creation as with other TLDs. This is a security feature specific to DeNic.
You should also note that the domain cannot be unlocked. This is because DeNic does not support domain locks.
How to transfer a .DE domain
If you need to transfer your .DE domain name away from Name.com, you will need to log in to your account and submit a support ticket. In your ticket, please include your Name.com account username and the domain name.
Once we verify domain ownership, we will request an authorization code for your domain at DeNic. The authorization code will then be sent to you in a separate email. That email will not include any other specific information about your domain name. This is to ensure that your domain name and authorization code are not included in the same email. We do this to protect your domain name, as security codes are sensitive information.
After you have received the authorization code, you will need to contact your new registrar. They will be able to initiate the transfer of your .DE domain name.
Note: At this time, we cannot accept incoming transfers of .DE domain names. Sorry for any inconvenience.
