Last year when we launched our new Name.com brand and website overhaul, we told our users that we wanted to create a simplified experience at Name.com that puts usability first. Since then, we’ve worked to identify our users’ pain points and build solutions to alleviate them.
Some of the biggest feedback we received while conducting interviews with our users was the lack of a quality cloud hosting experience provided by domain registrars. So when we began planning the launch of our own cloud hosting solution, we knew that a generic cloud hosting product would not provide the kind of seamless experience our users are looking for. We wanted to offer the best of the best.
That’s why we’re proud to announce our new partnership with DigitalOcean to provide access to an industry-revered, best-in-class cloud hosting experience, all managed via your Name.com account.
Meet DigitalOcean at Name.com
You can now purchase, build, and manage DigitalOcean Basic Droplets at Name.com. Rather than dealing with multiple logins to maintain your domain names, SSL certificates, and web projects separately, Name.com keeps all of your access under one roof. Features like 1-click distributions let you quickly deploy WordPress, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, Fedora, Debian, and CentOS, and pre-configured DNS templates save you time that can be better spent focusing on your projects.
Basic Droplets are available in sizes ranging from 25GB to 320GB. You can upgrade your Droplet on an as-needed basis to keep your costs low while maintaining a path forward in terms of scalability. The data-center of your virtual machine can be customized based on your geographic location for increased efficiency. Choose from data-centers in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Frankfurt, London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, or Toronto.
Backups can also be added on to your Droplet to store multiple iterations of your projects. Automate your backups to be taken on a weekly basis for low-maintenance security or create backups on an as-needed basis. Three backups can be retained at a time.
Your favorite domain and hosting brands, together at last
Name.com’s partnership with DigitalOcean marks continued progress towards our mission of providing best-in-class products to our users—the same types of products that we would want to use ourselves. We appreciate all of our users who have chosen (and continue to choose) Name.com as their domain name provider, and we’re excited to continue to flesh out a roster of product offerings that we fully stand behind. We hope that you’ll give our DigitalOcean experience a try.
