The bells are tolling, the people are gathering. They’ve come to hear the news. You may be asking yourself: “What news?” Well, we’ve got big news about some of the best domain names available.

Identity Digital is releasing thousands of previously-reserved and Platinum domain names to premium pricing. That means that more than 50k domains that either carried very high price tags or simply weren’t available for sale are hitting the market at great prices. You can view a complete list of the domains here.

The bulk of this release is made up of highly-valuable short (1, 2, and 3 character) domain names across various Identity Digital TLDs. Most notably, they are releasing short character premium domains on one of their most popular domains, .PRO, for the first time ever. Names like ai.pro, tax.pro, and nft.pro will be available to purchase, starting with an Early Access Phase (EAP).

Important Dates:

Early Access Phase Pre-orders: Available now

Early Access Phase: July 11–17, 2023

General Availability: July 18, 2023

How the Early Access Phase works

EAP allows you to purchase a domain prior to General Availability by paying a higher price. The earlier in the phase, the more expensive the domain. Attempting to purchase later in EAP might save some money on your registration, but it comes with the risk of losing out on the domain if someone purchases it sooner at a higher price point. It’s like an auction for domains, but with pre-determined price tiers.

If there’s a domain you really want, you can place an EAP pre-order, and we’ll attempt to register the domain for you the instant it becomes available at your preferred price point.

Why are these domains so valuable?

Well, let’s look at the history. Many short-character premium domain names have sold for tens of thousands of dollars: e.cash sold for $70K and go.live sold for $75K, for example. Some have even sold for hundreds of thousands. For instance, the Meredith Corporation purchased my.life for $175K in 2020. There are also “unicorn” domains selling for jaw-dropping amounts: in 2010 Facebook (now Meta) paid $8.5 million for fb.com (time-machine goals)!

Given the limited characters, the number of unique domain names available for each domain extension is relatively small. With limited inventory comes higher demand, higher prices, and higher returns on investment.

For entrepreneurs, this release provides the opportunity to claim highly valuable digital real estate as it’s hitting the market. With short premium domains, you can ensure your web address is not only easy to remember but also provides instant branding benefits. There’s only one tax.pro, for example, and owning this domain would instantly establish your credibility as a tax expert. Thanks to the rarity of these short domains, you can convey to your audience that you are legitimate and an established player in your industry (for instance, a.co is owned by Amazon & g.co is owned by Google).

What’s really boiling our kettle is that for the first time ever, customers can get their hands on one, two and three character .PRO domains—one of Identity Digital’s most popular extensions. See below for a small sample of the exciting inventory being released:

ai.protax.proi.pro
e.prothe.pro8.pro
nft.prode.proev.pro
ux.prothc.prous.pro
